While people all across the world get ready for the holiday season, some businesses are working hard to bring holiday cheer to the less fortunate.
Four local organisations are highlighted in this week's "In Good Company" because of their kindness towards us.
1. HP provides for low-income kids to receive a paper-based coding education.
In a four-week project, HP Indonesia worked with Prestasi Junior Indonesia, Kumala Foundation, and the graffiti artist Darbotz to create a unique paper-based coding curriculum.
To show underprivileged pupils that it is possible for them to learn to code.
Twenty kids dutifully learned paper-based coding for four weeks as part of an HP Street Code outreach initiative in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, which was set up under a toll bridge.
The project concluded in a customised code-based artwork created by Darbotz and HP that was shown for the general public in South Jakarta as an augmented reality experience.
2. Make A Wish raises money to assist children with life-threatening illnesses.

Make-A-Wish Malaysia conducted their annual WishBall after a three-year hiatus, selling eight products to raise money for the sick children of the country.
The auctioned items include paintings, a limited-edition Thermomix, a handcrafted baju kebaya by Bill Keith, a pair of Amee Philips earrings, and pieces by Stephen Menon and Nazneen Zofia, a person who suffers from brittle bone disease.
The total amount donated to the cause was RM114,000 (US$25,760).
3. The 400 graduates of the Indonesian Apple Developer Academy get degrees.

In the past few months, 400 students have graduated from the Jakarta, Surabaya, and Batam campuses of the Apple Developer Academy, which has been operating in Indonesia for five years.
Aiming to equip future entrepreneurs, programmers, and designers with the skills they need to thrive in Indonesia's expanding iOS app market, the school offers training in leadership and coding.
The students in the 2022 cohort are diverse in terms of their socioeconomic backgrounds and range in age from 18 to 39. They originate from each of the five main islands of Indonesia. The proportion of female participants in the cohort is at its highest level since the program's start.
A few of the helpful apps that have been created include Comute, which makes it simple for the deaf to travel on the Jakarta commuter rail, WonderJack, which offers dyslexic kids a secure learning environment through an interactive game, and Hexcape, which uses augmented reality and other technologies to bring escape room-style puzzles to life through both online and offline play.
4. Amazon provides 31,000 underprivileged children with a donation of S$100,000 (US$73,840).

To four NGOs in Singapore that help underprivileged children, Amazon gave a total of S$100,000 (US$73,840).
The funds given to the Arc Children's Centre, Beyond Social Services, SHINE Children and Youth Services, and Singapore Children's Society would help almost 31,000 Singaporean children between the ages of three and 21.
The funding will enable them to obtain better and more educational activities, food, and medical care, among other things.
